This blog post will show the first parts of my visual development for each fantasy prop I'm designing, including silhouettes, iterations and sketches. I will also be going through the stages of creating different colour palettes/variations, final iterations and a polished final concept art sheet (with orphographic views).
War Table
1. Firstly was the war table, in which I drew inspiration from a variety of different theming for my silhouettes (not necesarilly linking to my main one which is ice, as I will be implementing this in later stages). I played around with various creature features, like heads, tails, horns and wings. In addition to this, very natural theming such as earth, branches, roots, gems and rock.

After completing these silhouettes it was now time to choose which ones were my favourite so I could work from them. The features of these that I like the most are the creature like inspiration, like the last two on the first row, and the bird-like one on the last row.

I then decided it would be best for me to sketch the silhouettes out and then choose which ones I wanted to work on. My favourites were the birdlike statue and the floating table (second row, second column). I thought that the bird statue would make such a visually cool centerpiece as well as the floating table looking magical and mysterious.

Here are my quick sketches of the bird statue. I'm very fond of the ice one as it fits very well with the theme (second row, third column), as well as the ones with armour (most notably in the third row, second column). Because I'm designing a war table, it only seems fitting that there is some sort of armour or weaponary involved.

Next I have the floating tables. I particularly like the one in the third row, first column because it looks very paladin-esque with the book as a visually eye catching part. I can just imagine gold and red edges around it for a very regal feel. I also really like the sixth row, second column, as the skull and antlers look rather aesthetically impactful. This design would be perfect if I was creating a necromancers altar alchemy table for example.
