More Visual Development for the War Table
After iterating what kind of design I wanted, I compiled my favourites again...

... then started to connect and merge them together. In the end I decided against the bird center piece. This was because I feel that if characters in a game would be standing around the war table and discussing with one other, it occured to me that it would seem a bit odd for a pillar to be in the middle (essentially blocking their communication).
Asides from that, one of my favourite parts from the table set here are the draped pieces of cloth. I believe it adds a sense of importance to the table, as you usually see these at royal events or celebrations. In addition to this, I also think of fantastical curtains within elaborate architectural buildings.

So here is the final black and white draft of the table I have created. I am still very fond of the Paladin idea, which is why I have kept the book within the middle.

Colour iterations! Even though I knew I wanted the ice to look blue, it was fun to see how the table would look in different settings. The orangey ones remind me of autumn, which could open the opportunity to draw the ice as leaves instead (if I was to ever recreate the table in a similar fashion).

Extra:
I didn't get as much done of the development project as I would've like to right now, however I was still producing art! Earlier this week I submitted a piece I created into a contest, run by one of my favourite artists. On the 17th, I found out that I had come in second place! I won some awesome prints so that was great! :D

This was my entry:
