There were quite a few things I wanted to do in regards to this brief, so I condensed it into a few concepts/illustrations. Firstly, I wanted to take an existing character that Blizzard had already created (World of Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, Overwatch e.t.c) and redraw it as a playable character in the Heroes of the Storm artstyle. Secondly, I wanted to design an additional skin for that character. Lastly, I want to work together with another student on our course (Johan Lagesson), to create a themed illustration which would serve as the basis for a map design. He will be creating a 3D asset to match this theme, which is something that would appear in the playable game map.
Heroes of the Storm Character Art Examples:

Heroes of the Storm Skin Variation Examples (3D, however mine will be in 2D): The first picture shows their normal attire as seen in other games, the second is their master skin (which can be obtained by the player once they reach level 10 with that character) and the last two are various themed skins.

The Character I am focusing on:
Alexstrasza from World of Warcraft: I think she would fit as a playable character in Heroes of the Storm very well! Not only is she famous within the World of Warcraft universe, but the fact that she can turn into a dragon would be a plausible ultimate ability which she could use.

The theme for my map illustration and Johan's asset:
Let it Snow! We will be working together to create a cold, icy environment. Because the in game maps feature places inside Blizzard's various games, we thought that Northrend in World of Warcraft would be a perfect visual example. There has also yet to be a snowy level in Heroes of the Storm.
We also thought of what would happen inside the game map, where we have wrote instructions like the ones pictured on the illustrations.
1. Destroy the false idols 2. Return the power stones 3. Summon the minions
