BA2a Brief:
"BA2a: Interactivity
Deadline: 4PM, Friday, 05th February 2016
Brief: You will create a 10 page Pitch Document that examples a game design of your creation using imagery, diagrams and theming. You will also each create an interactive game prototype using simple mechanics implemented through UE4’s ‘Blueprint’. You will focus on ‘polished’ gameplay, include representative artwork and explore visual and mechanical abstractions utilizing a range of game development methodologies.
The theme of the prototype is: FLOW
You will: Learn (basic) UE4 Create indicative assets / artwork for use within the prototype Explore Interactivity through research, playtesting and iteration Present your final game concept in a 10 page Pitch document and playable prototype"
Researching 'Flow'
One of the key aspects we were asked to think about during this project is what 'flow' means and represents.

Challenges vs. Skills, Anxiety vs. Boredom and the one that balances them all: difficulty or difficulty balance.

Design Jam and Additional Ideas
For our first taught session in BA2a, each group took part in a small design jam. Each of us had to take a small piece of paper from a container, which would list a random title we were to think of game ideas for. However, this was to be done in 10 minutes; where we would then need to pitch it for around 30 seconds to the group after! The titles I got were 'Chicken or the Egg' and 'Zombie Hypnosis'.

Chicken or the Egg
Audience: Children and teenagers who have some free time to spend, at home or waiting for the bus e.t.c.
Platform: Mobile and iPad
Game Type: Endless Runner
Plot: Chickens and Eggs have a lifelong fued of who 'got there first', like the popular jokes
Both have secret organisations trying to eliminate the other.
Gameplay: Play a chicken or egg in a suit secret organisations want to rid the world of eggs/chickens - fueding since the dawn of time time zones - egyptian, maya e.t.c constantly running through levels to save the world from enemies You click on enemies to shoot them
Progress through a series of levels and worlds 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 e.t.c Upgrades, find loot
Unique Selling Point: Mafia chicken and eggs

Zombie Hypnosis Platform: Ipad Audience: Teenagers - Adults Casual game, free time to spend
Game Type: Timed Platformer Gameplay: In a world where lazy zombies rule the earth becoming human and gaining nice skin is considered a disease - this is quickly spreading Zombies create a injection to combat this Timed Platformer where you need to run through levels applying this injection to a specific amount of humans by tapping them before the time runs out humans will try to throw things at you, which you can tap to avoid each level becomes more difficult Unique Selling Point: timed level and multiplayer
