Week 1

- Briefing - BA3a Grade

- Studies - Rare Internship

Official Briefing for BA3b

At the beginning of this week we had our official briefing for BA3b,however I have been continually working on my project for the last two weeks in addition to this.

Brief:

'You will take forward the ideas and content developed in BA3a using all knowledge and skills acquired to date to fully realise the proposed outcome(s). You will also consider how your work can best be publicly communicated by developing the work for display at the NUA undergraduate exhibition. Guidelines for the exhibition process will be articulated by the course team in due course.'

Studies

1. Quick Warm Up Portrait

2. Sad Angel Sketch

3. Cloth and Wrap Study

4. Tarzan Torso Study

5. Greek Helmet Statue Study

Professional Practice

Because it's my final unit, I feel like professional practice is a huge part of learning and going forward from university and into the industry - which is why I will also be focusing on it each week.

Own Experience

I got an interview for the Rare Internship!

Last week I received an interview for the Concept Art Internship position at Rare and managed to be part of their Top 5 to be considered! Sadly I wasn't chosen to go forward but it was a great experience and I learnt a lot from it! These are a few pieces of critique I received which I will be working on in the future regarding my portfolio. - Sketch Blog - One issue with my portfolio is that there were many finished pieces and not many sketches. Whether it was meant by traditional or not I am unsure, as I have a seperate page dedicated to my iteration - although I will be taking this feedback on board.

- Difficult to Navigate - A mistake I made which was a poor decision of mine was the original layout of my iteration page, where you would view the iteration in the form of a slideshow which required constantly clicking to the next image. This isn't the case on my main portfolio page since everything is positioned in boxes although I can see now how silly I was for not implementing this on my separate pages as well. Immediately after the interview I actually changed it to view separate boxes instead, which can be found here.
